Mark Kean Senior Consultant, CISSP, PMP KeanInsight L.L.C.
Mark Kean is a senior consultant for KeanInsight L.L.C. with over twenty years of experience in software product development and information technology. With a diverse background ranging from positions
in software engineering to senior management, Mark has a unique ability to analyze problems and recommend solutions from a wide variety of perspectives. Mr. Kean has extensive experience in program and project
management, software development, information security architecture, network and systems security.
Mark works with a wide range of clients in a wide variety of industries including: e-Commerce retailers,
financial institutions, ISPs, developers of software products, and various state and federal government agencies. Mark has managed large scale, enterprise wide, security initiatives for Fortune 500 companies as well
as a wide variety of security and privacy projects for smaller organizations.
Prior to founding KeanInsight L.L.C. in 2000, Mark was the first System Security Manager for the Multi-State Lottery Association
(MUSL) Mark developed the association’s security management program. His accomplishments at MUSL include: developing and implementing a security review process, conducting security reviews for the state lotteries
selling the Powerball product, recommending new security standards and advising the Board of Directors on security & integrity matters.
At MUSL, Mr. Kean was also responsible for the IT services
provided by the association. The services included IT solutions to support daily operations of the association, web hosting for sites averaging millions of page views per month and mailing lists generating over
500,000 messages per month. Mr. Kean designed and implemented a comprehensive security architecture for the environment and managed the development of software to implement the services provided by the association.
Mark has also held positions as network engineering manager for Norwest Mortgage (now Wells Fargo Home Mortgage) and with Hewlett-Packard in software engineering and product marketing. At Hewlett-Packard he
was a member of the team that developed the initial releases of HP OpenView Network Node Manager.
Mark is co-author of "Power Programming with HP OpenView" published by Prentice-Hall. Mark received
his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Computer Science from the University of Iowa and is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and Project Management Professional (PMP).
